We posted this image on FB and received an amazing message from the son of the gentleman in this image (#52). His name was Ted Evans and he broke his collar bone during this crash, but proceeded to get back on his bike, pass two riders and win this heat. He then used rags and rope to support his broken collar bone and went on to win the main event this same day. "Tough as nails" is an understatement for this legend. by ironandair
